Interest Groups

Coloring for Adults

We meet at 4:00 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Monday in Room C.

Join us for a relaxing evening of coloring! Coloring is an activity we think of as being for kids. However, it can be beneficial for adults. Feel free to bring your own coloring supplies, or you can use ours.

Dewey Stitchers

We meet at 4:00 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Thursday in Room C & on Zoom (upon request).

Bring your knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, embroidery, crewel, or any other fiber art you may be working on or want to learn about. Whether you would like to learn or are experienced, come join us! Share your patterns, scraps of yarn, or yarn you no longer use.

If you'd like to participate via Zoom, please contact Samantha at sbarsanti [at] deforestlibrary.org or 608-846-5482 at least one hour prior to the meeting.

Memoir Writing Group

We meet at 1:00 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Thursday in Room C.

Join us the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month for the library's Memoir Writing Group. Everyone has a story to tell. Share a memory from your life or write about the people, places, and events that helped to shape it. Bring a copy of your writing to the meeting, or send something to Samantha at sbarsanti [at] deforestlibrary.org to be printed for you ahead of time. At the meeting, share your writing and listen as others read their stories. This is not a critique group but a supportive place to share your writing. We have members with all skill levels. New members and visitors are always welcome!

Monday Matinee

We meet various Mondays at 1:00 pm in the Community Room at the Library.

We're pleased to offer a free showing of a movie that is of interest to grown-ups on varying Mondays of the month. Check out our Monday Matinee page for more information.

Photography Group

We meet at 6:00 p.m. on the 3rd Monday of every month in Room D & on Zoom.

Join fellow photographers for this interest group at the DeForest Area Public Library! We have members with all skill levels. New members are always welcome!

Qigong

We meet most Tuesdays at 9:30 am at the library.

Qigong is a moving meditation that is simple, easy to learn, and can be done by everyone, at any age and fitness level. Just mirror the movements of the instructor and reduce tension, improve breathing, and increase flexibility. Open to ages 16 & up. Participants need to sign a waiver at the start of their first class.
