  6. Reports
    1. Director's - Berg reported that 11 staff members had taken Mental Health First Aid training this afternoon for four hours and will have an additional four hours of training on Friday. Staff comments indicated that they found it very worthwhile. There was some discussion about having Narcan available in the library. With the EMTs so close to the library it was felt that calling trained professionals might be the best course of action. Berg noted that the do-over of the Teen area was on hold as we waited for shelf braces to be made so the shelving units can be completed. The bill was paid in the bill run. We may not get them until the first of the year.
    2. President's - None.
    3. Village Update - There is a storm water rate study underway. The DeForest Police Department is looking at a restorative justice model when dealing with some crimes. The 2019 budget was approved by the village. Tax bills will be sent out in the next week or two. Lowery introduced a resolution about diversity and inclusivity. The resolution was not passed.
    4. School Update - Runez noted that a survey about different options to address the long-term facility needs of the school district was out. He encourage everyone to take the survey.
  7. Old Business
    1. Discussion of Long Range Plan 2016-2021
      • The edits to the long range plan were discussed. Samples of the one-page long-range plan were shown. There was a preference for the large dragon with statements but that the word “Connects” should be in the middle and in a brighter color such as yellow. The board did not like the word “equals”.
