- Reports
- Director's - Berg noted that due to the resignation of our long-time cataloger and promotion of the assistant tech services person to that position. An opening was created. A clerk applied for and received that position. Then a different clerk resigned due car issues and a page received more duties. All of which left the library down two clerks and two pages. Interviews were concluded today and the library is happy to be offering the page positions to two young men who use the library all the time. We also are offering a clerk position to a recently retired State of Wisconsin employee who lived here and whose father still lives here and told him about the job. One clerk position is left to fill. Staffing is so short that there is no back up if someone gets sick while someone else is on vacation. The Village budget timeline will start in August with a conversation between department heads and the village board. August is tricky for Berg due to vacations she has scheduled. Berg will be gone from August 9th through the 13th and then from the 23rd through September 6th. She asked to move the library board meeting to September 8th. Berg will bring a preliminary budget to the August meeting that reflects the strategic plan.
- President's - President Van Iten welcomed Superintendent Rebecca Toetz to the library board. She said she or the library director would be happy to answer any questions.
- Village Update - Landgraf noted that $5000 was being used to do more surveys on a community pool. The deconstruction of the pavement between village hall and the park (where the Farmer’s Market was – it has now moved to the north end of Market Street next to the library). Pickle ball courts and lights being borrowed for. A police car purchase had to be moved to 2023 or 2024 due to supply chain issues. The High School bike path has been delayed because of an easement by the church. Pinseekers by contract had to turn dirt by March which they did but nothing else has happened.
