DeForest Area Public Library Regular Library Board Minutes
Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.

1. Call to Order and Roll Call
   • President Van Iten called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm.
   • Present : Blount, Borden, Englesby, Gorres, Lawrence, Van Iten, Ziegler.
   • Absent : Berg.
   • Also present : Newbegin.
2. Approval of Agenda
   • Motion to Approve as presented : Lawrence.
   • Second : Gorres.
   • Action : Approved.
3. Approval of Regular & Annual Meeting Minutes of October 1, 2015.
   • Motion to Approve as presented : Englesby.
   • Second : Gorres.
   • Discussion : None
   • Action : Approved.
4. Public Presentations / Communications
   • None.
5. Approval of Bills
   • Motion to Approve the Bills as presented : Ziegler.
   • Second : Blount.
   • Discussion : None.
   • Action : Approved.
6. Reports
   1. Director's - In Berg’s absence, Newbegin discussed the library’s three new grants. There was discussion about the importance of the library board’s participation in the Madison Community Foundation Endowment Fund grant. The trustees discussed what would need to be done for major fundraising, setting up a meeting and creating committees.
   2. President's - None.
   3. Village Update - Blount gave a brief update about the village budget, and noted building projects were going well.
7. Old Business
   1. Discussion of 2016 Budget.
      • Blount noted the Village would be approving the final budget at the December 2 Village Board meeting. Newbegin stated Berg had previously sent the library budget to the village.
8. New Business
   1. Review General Policies - Part 3.
      • Part 3 was reviewed by the Board and it was noted that it is commonly included by libraries. The Board had no edits or changes for Part 3.
9. Future Agenda Items
   1. Review General Policies.
10. Adjournment
