DeForest Area Public Library Regular Library Board Minutes
Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.

  1. Call to Order and Roll Call
    • President Van Iten called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm.
    • Present : Blount, Borden, Englesby, Gorres, Lawrence, Van Iten, Ziegler.
    • Also present : Berg, Newbegin.
  2. Approval of Agenda
    • Motion to Approve as presented : Englesby.
    • Second : Borden.
    • Action : Approved.
  3. Approval of Regular & Annual Meeting Minutes of September 3, 2015.
    • Motion to Approve as presented : Gorres.
    • Second : Ziegler.
    • Discussion : None
    • Action : Approved.
  4. Public Presentations / Communications
    • None.
  5. Approval of Bills
    • Motion to Approve the Bills as presented : Gorres.
    • Second : Englesby.
    • Discussion : Berg noted the short bill run was due to the meeting date falling so early this month. The locksmith bill was discussed.
    • Action : Approved.
  6. Reports
    1. Director's - Berg discussed grants, street construction around the library, and the Friends coffee cart.
    2. President's - None.
    3. Village Update - Blount gave updates on the chicken ordinance, the River Road sidewalk, budgets, and facilities.
  7. Old Business
    1. Discussion of 2016 Budget.
      • Berg had new numbers for insurance, and noted she still needs to wait for the Dane County budget to be finalized to get numbers from Dane County.
  8. New Business
    1. Review General Policies - Part 2.
      • The geocaching policies were discussed, and some edits need to be done. Berg will make the changes.
  9. Future Agenda Items
    1. Review General Policies.
