In 1869, a gutsy girl flees New York City and heads west on an orphan train in a desperate search for a home for herself and her little brother. This is the basis for the meticulously-researched, historical fictional account of young children traveling to find a home on an orphan train in Terri Karsten’s book, When Luck Runs Out.

Terri joins us to discuss this book and her inspiration for it.
