Join us for a fun hands-on craft where you can make your own pressed flower bookmarks! 

We’ll have everything you need (including clear acrylic bookmarks, a variety of colorful pressed flowers, washi tape, Mod Podge, and paintbrushes) to make these charming bookmarks.

Library at the Center: Climate Change in Costa Rica

Join us for an engaging and educational talk about the impacts of climate change on rainforests in Costa Rica. 

Citizen scientist Connie Mashock will share about her various trips to Monteverde, Costa Rica where she observed wildlife, helped to identify insect species, and observed the impacts of deforestation and climate change on the country’s rainforests. 

Connie will show us photographs from her trips and talk about what the rainforest was and where it is today based on her unique experiences.

Shirley Merker returns to show us the techniques to make cards with a Summer theme! Participants will get to make two cards as well as a muslin gift bag with a note card.

Join us for an engaging and educational presentation about local birds and wildflowers with local birder Ed Saur! Ed will talk about identifying backyard birds and ways to attract them, finding local birds by habitat in the Spring and Summer, and identifying wildflowers that occur in our area this time of year. He will also highlight some unusual birds that are sometimes seen as well as extremely rare birds that have shown up in Wisconsin. Throughout the talk, Ed will share photographs along with his experiences.
