2019 Winter Reading Program: Reading is the Cat's Meow - Registration Required
Monday, December 17 (All day) to Friday, March 1 (All day)



Registration is open:

Please only enter reading level appropriate books that you read during this program.

Dragon Dollars can be spent in the Prize Store or donated to either the DeForest Area Public Library Endowment Fund, the Dane County Humane Society, the DeForest Area Needs Network, or the Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue. For more information about each of these organizations click their name to visit their website.

Non-redeemed Dragon Dollars (meaning they are on your online account as still owed to you) can be donated to any of the three organizations by sending an email to jsvetlik@deforestlibrary.org before end of day Sunday, March 3, 2019. Please include the amount you are donating to the specific organization(s). Redeemed Dragon Dollars must be donated in person.

All Dragon Dollars earned this reading program will expire at the end of the day Sunday, March 3, 2019.

Come celebrate the retirement of Ms. Louise, our Children's Librarian, with us.

There will be cake and punch, crafts and photo memories, and of course, GLITTER! (That's one of Ms. Louise's favorite things.)

Exploratories are family activity times for pre-school and elementary school-aged children and their families held in the library children's room. Join in the fun!

Time for Bed! | Monday, January 28 - 7:30pm | Children's Room


Monday evenings from 7:30 – 7:40 p.m.

Wear your jammies, bring in a blanket and snuggle in for a bedtime story or two.

Tiny Tot Time (18 - 24 months) - Registration Required | Wednesday, January 30 - 10:00am | Children's Room


Tiny Tot Time involves finger plays, stories, music, and fun. This session is for children 18 - 24 months old on Wednesdays at 10 a.m.

You may register for one Story Hour OR Tiny Tot Time. Once sessions begin please e-mail Louise, louisev@deforestlibrary.org for available classes.

If you have a disability and require accommodation in order to fully participate, please contact library staff.

Read to an Officer | Wednesday, February 6 - 3:30pm | Children's Room


Children can come to the library and Read to an Officer who will be waiting in the Children's Room for reading friends!

Registration and permission slips are required for the 10 minute time slots and are available at the Front Desk.
