2019 Winter Reading Program: Reading is the Cat's Meow - Registration Required
Monday, December 17 (All day) to Friday, March 1 (All day)

Please only enter reading level appropriate books that you read during this program.

Dragon Dollars can be spent in the Prize Store or donated to either the DeForest Area Public Library Endowment Fund, the Dane County Humane Society, or the DeForest Area Needs Network. For more information about each of these organizations click their name to visit their website.

Non-redeemed Dragon Dollars (meaning they are on your online account as still owed to you) can be donated to any of the three organizations by sending an email to jsvetlik@deforestlibrary.org before end of day Sunday, March 3, 2019. Please include the amount you are donating to the specific organization(s). Redeemed Dragon Dollars must be donated in person.

All Dragon Dollars earned this reading program will expire at the end of the day Sunday, March 3, 2019.

Teen/Adult Boardgames | Saturday, February 16 - 12:00pm | Classroom - Lower Level


We will be playing games from the new breed of modern board games that have reinvigorated this once lackluster pastime.

Put down the controllers and phones and enjoy some face to face gaming.

Teen Games | Monday, February 18 - 3:30pm | Lower Level


Teen Games will meet twice a week, Monday and Thursday.

Each day will have its own Dungeons and Dragons session.

There will also be a variety of amazing games to play, like Munchkin, Fluxx, Loot Letter, Chupacabra: Survive the Night, and more.

Anyone is welcome to come into the Workshop to explore and see what it has to offer. Try your hand at sphero, osmo, snap circuits, and 3D printing, or many other options to nurture your inner scientist. There will be a librarian on hand to answer your questions and to help get you started.

Build you cat the cardboard house he/she deserves be it a castle, boat, food truck, or anything else your imagination can come up with.

It's the Cat's Meow! Sew a Cat Basket with Ms. Louise - Registration Required | Thursday, February 21 - 2:00pm | Classroom - Lower Level


Kids (and grown-up kids) are invited to make your own blue cat basket with Ms. Louise, our newest library volunteer!

All supplies provided. Don’t have a cat? Make a bed for a cat in need to be donated to a pet rescue.
