The Wonderful World of Disney Musicals With the Four Seasons Theatre | Wednesday, May 8 - 6:00pm | Community Room


This celebration of Disney musicals includes three parts—stay for all three, or come for the parts that interest you most!

  • SEA CREATURE CRAFT: 6 PM Kids of all ages can craft an underwater animal that might live in the world of The Little Mermaid.
  • DISNEY OUT LOUD: 6:30 PM Listen as Four Seasons Theatre performers sing the music of Disney animation, spanning the decades from Snow White to Frozen.
  • GETTING TO THE SOURCE: 7 PM Professor Scott Mellor (UW-Madison) discusses the origins of The Little Mermaid and leads a talk-back exploring the meanings and adaptations of these stories.

This program is free and open to the public.

This program is made possible by Four Seasons Theatre with support from the Beyond the Page program, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Madison Community Foundation.

Come in and explore The Workshop in this evening Open Lab. Play a game, design a 3D print, or just get a tour of jour exciting MakerLab.

Teen Games | Thursday, May 9 - 3:30pm | Lower Level


Teen Games will meet twice a week, Monday and Thursday.

Each day will have its own Dungeons and Dragons session.

There will also be a variety of amazing games to play, like Munchkin, Fluxx, Loot Letter, Chupacabra: Survive the Night, and more.

QiGong Classes With Nancy Osley, Instructor | Tuesday, May 14 - 9:30am | Community Room except July 30 will meet in the Teen Area


Qigong is a moving meditation that is simple, easy to learn, and can be done by everyone, at any age and fitness level.

Just mirror the movements of the instructor and reduce tension, improve breathing, and increase flexibility.

Open to ages 16 & up. Participants need to sign a waiver at the start of their first class.

If you have a disability and require accommodation in order to fully participate, please contact library staff.

Anyone is welcome to come into the Workshop to explore and see what it has to offer. Try your hand at sphero, osmo, snap circuits, and 3D printing, or many other options to nurture your inner scientist. There will be a librarian on hand to answer your questions and to help get you started.

Learn about 3D printing and watch our printer in action. Patrons may also try their hand at designing a small 3D print they will get to keep.
