Position Available: Library Clerk
The DeForest Library is looking for a dynamic, flexible, detail-oriented, responsible person to work at the circulation desk.
Qualifications:
- Good communication skills and the ability to positively interact with people are necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Hours & Pay:
- Part-time position; approximately 10 hrs/wk.
- Schedule is subject to change but will include 1 or 2 evenings per week and rotating weekend hours.
- Pay based on experience.

Adopt-a-Shelf Volunteer:
Help library staff maintain its collections to keep materials readily available for patron usage and requests.
Adult Program/Event Assistant:
Provide support for adult library programs and/or events.
Children’s Program/Event Assistant:
Provide support for children’s library programs and/or events.
Indoor Plant Care/Waterer:
Water and care for indoor library plants.
Pick List Assistant:
Assist the circulation staff by retrieving items to fill library holds.
Studio 203 Assistant:
Provide support for drop-in activities in Studio 203, which is a space that changes frequently and is an engaging and attractive area designed to draw children and families in to do quick hands-on activities as they enter the library.
Workshop Program/Event Assistant:
Provide support for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Manufacturing) programs and/or events.
Young Adult Special Events Assistant:
Provide adult support and supervision for young adult events.
Friends of the DeForest Area Public Library:
The Friends of the DeForest Public Library is a membership group that provides valuable financial and volunteer support for the library.
